What it does

Hold the Canvas Glider in your main hand and step off somewhere high. After a moment of falling it opens above your head: you drift down slowly and fly the way you look, at about 8 blocks a second, and you take no fall damage while gliding or when you land. Switch to another item or crouch to fold it. Landing, water, lava or riding something folds it too, and it stays shut on short drops and ordinary jumps.

It can't climb on its own. Glide over a lit campfire or soul campfire and the smoke lifts you to 10 blocks above the fire, or 20 above a signal fire on a hay bale, then lets you glide on. Stand beside a lit campfire and jump to take off from the ground. Each second of gliding wears 1 of its 240 durability, about 4 minutes in all. It stops at the last point instead of breaking in the air and won't open again until you repair it at an anvil with wool or leather, or combine two worn gliders there into one. If you fold it in mid-air, the fall from that point hurts as usual.

  • About 4 blocks forward for every block down, at 8 blocks a second
  • No fall damage while gliding or on landing
  • Campfire smoke lifts you 10 blocks, a signal fire 20
  • 240 durability: 4 minutes of gliding, 1 point a second
  • Repaired at an anvil with wool or leather

How to craft it

  • Canvas Glider

    Crafting table

    • White wool ×3
    • Stick ×2
    • String ×1
    • Leather ×1

Top row: White wool, White wool, White wool. Middle row: Stick, String, Stick. Bottom row: empty, Leather, empty.

How to install Canvas Glider

  1. Import the .mcaddon, then turn on both packs in your world's settings (Behavior Packs and Resource Packs). No experiments are needed. Needs Minecraft Bedrock 1.26.45 or later.
  2. At a crafting table, put 3 white wool across the top row, a stick, a string and a stick across the middle row, and 1 leather in the middle of the bottom row to make a Canvas Glider.
  3. Hold it in your main hand and step off somewhere at least 3 blocks high. It opens by itself after a moment of falling; turn to steer. To take off from the ground, stand beside a lit campfire and jump into its smoke.
  4. To fold it, switch items or crouch (Shift on Windows; on touch screens tap crouch, and tap it again to let the glider open). It folds by itself when you land.
  5. When it says it is worn out, repair it at an anvil with any wool or leather; each one restores a quarter of its durability, and the anvil charges experience levels as usual. Two worn gliders combined at an anvil also make one with more durability.

Which version do I have?

Minecraft Bedrock shows its version number in the bottom-right corner of the main menu. Everything on ModChest is built for Bedrock 1.26.45 and newer, on Android, iPhone, iPad and Windows. If your number is lower, update Minecraft from the store you installed it from, then import the mod.
