Installing on Windows
Tap Install on any ModChest page and the file lands in your Downloads folder. Then open it.
-
Open the downloaded file from your Downloads folder.
-
Minecraft for Windows opens and imports it.
-
Turn it on in your world.
Use Minecraft for Windows, not Java Edition.
Turn it on in your world
Importing copies a pack into Minecraft. It does nothing in your world until you switch it on.
- A mod
- Edit your world, open Behavior Packs and activate the mod, then check its resource pack is active too. Behavior packs turn achievements off for that world.
- A texture pack
- Edit your world, open Resource Packs and activate it. For every world, add it under Settings, Global Resources.
- A skin
- Open the Dressing Room from the main menu, choose Classic Skins and equip an outfit before you enter a world.
- A world
- Nothing to switch on. Choose the new world from Play.
If something goes wrong
Nothing happens when I open the file
On Android, open it from the Files app under Downloads. Chrome’s Open button and Chrome’s downloads list do nothing with these files. On iPhone and iPad, use the page menu at the left of the address bar, then Downloads; the share sheet never lists Minecraft. And check that Minecraft Bedrock is on the device: Java Edition and consoles can’t import these files.
Minecraft says “Duplicate pack detected”
That version is already imported, so activate the copy you have. To replace it, delete the old pack under Settings, Storage, then import again.
Minecraft says “Import failed”
Download the file again from its page; an interrupted download can’t be imported. Then compare your Minecraft version with the one on the pack’s page.
It imported, but nothing changed
Texture packs and mods stay off until you switch them on in a world, and skins appear only in the Dressing Room. When two resource packs change the same texture the higher one wins, so move this one to the top.
My skin doesn’t show on a server
Servers can block custom skins with their trusted-skins setting. An imported skin also stays on the device you imported it on.
Every mod, world, texture pack and skin has its own steps on its page, and the Minecraft version it was built for. Browse mods, texture packs, skins or worlds.
