What it does

Aim at the bottom block of a sugar cane, bamboo or cactus stalk, crouch and use the Cane Cutter. Everything above the block you aimed at comes down in one go, up to 6 blocks, and drops as cane, bamboo or cactus for you to pick up. The block you aimed at is left where it is, so the plant regrows without replanting.

The blade has 192 durability and spends 1 point per block, so a worn blade cuts fewer. It stops at the first block that is not part of the stalk, so a lantern or a fence over your cane farm is safe. On a stalk taller than 6 blocks the blade spends its 6 points on the lowest 6 above the block you aimed at, and whatever is left hanging above the gap falls as items the way it would if you broke it by hand.

How to install Cane Cutter

Import the .mcaddon, then turn on both packs in your world's settings (Behavior Packs and Resource Packs). No experiments are needed. Needs Minecraft Bedrock 1.26.45 or later.
At a crafting table, put iron ingots in the top right and center, and a stick in the bottom left.
Aim at the bottom block of a stalk up to 5 blocks away, crouch and use the cutter (right-click on Windows, tap Cut stalks on touch screens).
Pick up the cane, bamboo or cactus that drops. The block you aimed at stays and grows back on its own.

Which version do I have?

Minecraft Bedrock shows its version number in the bottom-right corner of the main menu. Everything on ModChest is built for Bedrock 1.26.45 and newer, on Android, iPhone, iPad and Windows. If your number is lower, update Minecraft from the store you installed it from, then import the mod.
