What it does

Craft a Hatchling Egg and use it on the ground: a Dragon Hatchling hatches, already yours. It walks beside you, takes off when you get more than 7 blocks ahead or climb above it, and lands next to you again. If you get more than 16 blocks ahead, it teleports to you. Use it with an empty hand to make it sit and stay, even in mid-air, and again to have it follow.

It spits fire at monsters within 10 blocks, at monsters that hurt you and at monsters you attack, for 4 damage and 3 seconds of burning. When a monster comes within 5 blocks it hops back, so it spits from 4 to 8 blocks away rather than trading blows. The spit never sets blocks alight or breaks them. It never spits at creepers, players, animals, villagers or tamed pets, and it leaves endermen, piglins and zombified piglins alone unless they fight you. It has 30 health and is never hurt by fire, lava or falling, and each piece of cooked meat you feed it heals 6. Hatchlings don't breed or appear in the wild, and one that dies drops nothing.

How to install Dragon Hatchling

Import the .mcaddon, then turn on both packs in your world's settings (Behavior Packs and Resource Packs). No experiments are needed. Needs Minecraft Bedrock 1.26.45 or later.
At a crafting table, combine 1 egg, 2 blaze powder, 2 magma cream and 4 gold ingots in any arrangement to make a Hatchling Egg.
Use the egg on the ground (right-click on Windows, tap on touch screens) to hatch your Dragon Hatchling. The egg is used up.
Use the hatchling with an empty hand (right-click on Windows, tap Sit on touch screens) to make it sit and stay. Do it again to have it follow you.
Hold cooked beef, porkchop, chicken, mutton or rabbit and use it on the hatchling to heal it (tap Feed on touch screens). At full health it won't eat, and the meat makes it sit or stand instead.
