What it does

Craft an Death Spot Finder from string and an amethyst shard. Every time you die, the mod remembers where, and when you respawn a chat message tells you which way to go. Use the spool at any time to see the compass direction, the distance in blocks and the exact coordinates of your last death above your hotbar. If that spot is in another dimension, it names the dimension instead of a direction.

Your last death is saved to you, not to the spool, so a new spool still knows the way if you lose yours. Each player has their own record, and only your most recent death is kept. Death Spot Finder only shows the way: it doesn’t protect or return your items, and they still despawn or burn as usual. It can’t find deaths from before the mod was turned on.

How to install Death Spot Finder

Import the .mcaddon, then turn on both packs in your world’s settings (Behavior Packs and Resource Packs). No experiments are needed. Needs Minecraft Bedrock 1.26.45 or later.
Craft an Death Spot Finder at a crafting table: 3 string across the top row, 1 amethyst shard in the center, and 3 string across the bottom row.
Deaths are saved from the moment the mod is on, even when you aren’t carrying the spool.
After a death, read the chat message, or hold the spool and use it (right-click on Windows, tap Find last fall on touch screens) to see the direction, distance and coordinates.
Get back before your items despawn. Death Spot Finder shows the way but doesn’t keep or return your items.

Minecraft Bedrock shows its version number in the bottom-right corner of the main menu. Everything on ModChest is built for Bedrock 1.26.45 and newer, on Android, iPhone, iPad and Windows. If your number is lower, update Minecraft from the store you installed it from, then import the mod.
