What it does

Stand a mossy stone footing under lime-washed cob and timber-frame walls, then finish the house: set a plank door with iron strap hinges into the front wall, a flower box window and a gable window into the others, and hang painted shutters beside them. Run a scalloped bargeboard and a thatch eave or shingle roof edge along the roofline, add a gable dormer and a brick chimney above, and build the porch from posts, a corner beam, a picket railing, a bench and a porch lantern. Outside, lay a flagstone path up to stone steps, hang a rose trellis on the wall, set a picket gate in the fence and stack firewood in the log store. Nothing is built for you: you place every piece yourself, and the wall, footing and path blocks craft 4 to 6 at a time so a whole cottage is worth the trip to the crafting table. Every piece turns to face you when you place it and drops itself when broken.

Use the flower box window to replant it: pink roses, then lavender and daisies, then red geraniums. Use the porch lantern to light it or put it out, and it gives light level 14 while it burns; the hanging lantern is always lit at 10. The log store holds 27 stacks: use it while holding a plain stick to put away every stack in your main inventory, or with anything else to take them back. Your hotbar is never touched, and breaking it drops everything inside. The porch bench and window seat each seat 1 player, and crouching stands you back up. The plank door and the picket gate are decoration and don't open, so leave a gap for a regular wooden door where you want one that swings. Only the cob wall, timber-frame wall and stone footing fill their block and shut out light; the windows, trim, railings and eaves are thin pieces that let it through. A seat is not a spawn point, and pistons can't move the log store or the seats.

  • 24 cottage building parts, each placeable facing 4 directions
  • Switchable porch lantern at light level 14, plus a hanging lantern at 10
  • Flower box window with 3 plantings: roses, lavender and daisies, geraniums
  • 1 log store holding 27 stacks, and 2 seats: a porch bench and a window seat
  • 4 wall, footing and path blocks that craft 4 to 6 at a time

How to install Cottage House Parts

  1. Import the .mcaddon, then turn on both packs in your world's settings (Behavior Packs and Resource Packs). No experiments are needed. Needs Minecraft Bedrock 1.26.45 or later.
  2. Craft each piece at a crafting table. A recipe appears in the recipe book once you pick up its main material: birch planks for the windows, door, shutters, trellis, railing, gate, bargeboard, bench, window seat and timber-frame wall, birch logs for the thatch eave, gable dormer and hanging lantern, spruce logs for the porch post, corner beam, shingle roof edge and log store, and moss blocks for the cob wall, stone footing, stone steps, flagstone path and brick chimney.
  3. Build the walls first, then set the windows, door and shutters into them and run the bargeboard, eave and roof edge along the top. Each piece faces you when you place it, so stand on the side its front should face. To turn a piece later, break it and place it again.
  4. Use a piece (right-click on Windows, tap on touch screens) to work it: sit on the porch bench or window seat, switch the porch lantern, or replant the flower box window. Crouch to stand up from a seat.
  5. Hold a plain stick and use the log store to store the stacks in your main inventory. Use it with an empty hand or any other item to take them back; whatever doesn't fit stays inside.
  6. Crouch when you place a block against a piece, so you don't use the piece instead.
